Olaitan Moyosoreoluwa Odejimi was born in Lagos, Nigeria.   He has a bachelor’s degree in Banking and finance from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-iwoye, and also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria.  He has a master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of Abuja.  He was awarded Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary, Kaduna in 2018. Olaitan is also a certified Scrum manager.

 

He started his professional Career as an account officer with Task System Limited, where he was in charge of payment of local and foreign vendors, bank and stock reconciliation, nominal & suppliers accounts and participated in drawing-up the financial statements. He later joined Technology Distribution, a formidable hardware and software solution company, as an account supervisor where he prepared and monitored the company group budget and advised management with regards to budget related matters, prepared the variance analysis and investigated the disparity between the budget and the actual.  He reviewed the quarterly system of internal control and reported finding and level of compliance to management.  Conducted end of year stock count at the company's various warehouses. He later joined the Financial Management Office of American Embassy Abuja as a voucher examiner saddled with the responsibility to include review and processing all types of vouchers submitted for payment by agencies of the United States of America (local & International), handling of accounts receivable & utility billings for all Americans and American Agencies in Nigeria.  Due to his diligence, devotion and consistency, he rose to the position of a Financial Analyst with responsibility to develop, monitor and review budgets and financial plans, exercise fund control in a complex multi- serviced agency environment.  Compiling and analyzing cost trends for significant and variable cost items such as travel, allowances, utilities.  He was later promoted to the post of the Financial Specialist for the United States Mission in Nigeria, saddled with the responsibility to formulate budget and develop justification semi-annually, ICASS budget of over $58,000,000 for U.S mission in Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) and ensure that all 28 USG agencies are correctly invoiced through the Web ICASS system.  He joined the IMC Charleston family as Association Accountant in October 2022 after he relocated to the United States with his family in August 2022.

Olaitan has over 25 years professional experience in accounting, budgeting, and auditing. Ola, has well over six years supervisory experience in his present and past working experience.  He has a strong analytical mind, experienced with business process improvement projects with a focus on streamlining processes and automating where appropriate. He has excellent data management and report presentation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and teamwork spirit. He has excellent knowledge of Financial Accounting Principles and concepts including the International Accounting Standard and does his work professionally to conform to the generally Accepted Accounting Principles. He has excellent financial statement analysis and financial control techniques.
